Very Nice

Before staying there, be aware its a National Park CG and federal laws are in force. Extremely large tents and screen houses do not fit within the wood boundry with a fixed picnic table and fire pit. Also know the length of the parking pad beforehand so your unit will fit. No wheels allowed off pavement.
If you are looking for a quiet campground during the day and early night, this one is not for you. Early spring and fall camping is actually the best! Mostly adults then during the weekday. The Ranger staff is the greatest. But if you violate, expect contact with the law enforcement Rangers. Also when making reservations, those folks don't know anything about the campground other than what is written down in front of them, and yes, they will say your tent or RV will fit, not! Call the Platte River CG direct for site size etc, but you cannot reserve with them by phone. Each site has 50 amp, 30 amp and 2- 20 amp in the electric box. NO on-site water hookup; fill up at the dump station or carry water from individual areas within the campground. BE aware of fire danger before making a camp fire ! Canoe the Platte River, BUT it gets really busy, crowded and roudy due to alcohol. Pets MUST be on a 6 foot leash and not tied to run around to poop in the surrounding sites and pick up the POOP !!
But its a great CG in the winter too. One half of loop one remains open in the winter but only a select few sites. Heated Bath

We stayed here in a 5th Wheel.

Also, the camp ground is about 2/3 reservable however if you drive thru, you will see many vacant sites even though it may have a full sign, people always fail to show til late and the Ranger staff holds the site for 24 hrs unless notified beforehand.
Loop 2 two is first come/not reservable and loop 4 is half first come too but loop 4 has no electric.
Note you cannot move the picnick table or fire ring so know beforehand forsure that your tent and screen house will fit or be DISAPPOINTED !
