On top of that, they don't charge any income tax on retirement income sources. Yesterday, my dad ranted to me that there was apparently a huge catch: they charge super huge taxes on vehicles. They were quoted by the Secretary of State about $700++ just so that they could get their motorhome's license tags. The reason was that the base price of their Motorhome was at $126,000 when they got it. For those living in Michigan, I just want to ask if this is really how much they need to pay for their tags?!?!

Double Hookups????

I was just checking out this campground that we'll be heading to later this month. We figured that aside from being able to hookup our Motorhome so that we can at least run it every now and then during the winter months, we figured that it might come in handy when we go camping, especially after reading a lot of reviews on some of the campgrounds we want to visit this year that the hookups in the RV sites are very difficult to access.

Given this, what is a good length of extension cord to get? We're thinking 5 ft., but is this too short or too long? Is it best to get more than one?

Thanks in advance.

what are the best discount camping clubs ???

I am new to RVing, and I have checked on their websites real quick but what are the main advantage between the the different RVing or camping club such as Good Sam Club, America Passport, Yogi Bear...

I heard that the place is notorious when it comes to electrical storms. Call me paranoid, but now it's got me thinking. The trailer that we have now has an aluminum siding, and I'm worried that because of this, we might end up being more susceptible to getting hit by lightning. We're thinking of changing it to glass, but a friend of mine said that that's a worst situation.

Any advice about this will be really appreciated. I know it's a ways off, but I want to give myself enough time just in case I might need to change the siding.

what are the best discount camping clubs ???

I am new to RVing, and I have checked on their websites real quick but what are the main advantage between the the different RVing or camping club such as Good Sam Club, America Passport, Yogi Bear...

So My boyfriend and I went to The Colorado River CA, and we really enjoyed rafting and this small trip by car was so nice.

And I really think about doing that kind of trip more often.

But I'm not ready yet to buy a RV.

I heard good things about the Swiss Room Box, does any of you bought it? Is there any other brands? And what do you think about the price?

Dish Network Packages?

My son and I are thinking of getting a package with Dish Network. We're currently doing some renovations to expand the garage to accommodate our Motorhome. For the moment, I've parked it in our yard. A friend of ours who came over during our house warming pointed out that parking our Motorhome is not a good idea. Something that has to do with the moisture and the grass and stuff. Right now, it's just the bottom of the tires that are covered by the grass so I really don't see any problem. Is there any truth to what my friend said?

As in Monday-Friday, 8am-50pm? We encountered some problems at the campground over the weekend, and tried calling the company where we got our ERS. But we got only a recording. It was a good thing that the host of the campground came to our rescue. We still got another 30 days to cancel our ERS and get our money refunded, so it would be a big help if anyone could enlighten me about this right away.

Since there's not going to be any hookups, I was thinking of filling up our 100 gallon fresh water tank before heading out. It just occurred to me that that's going be more than 800 lbs. Given that, I was wondering if it's safe or advisable to drive our Motorhome with that much fresh water in our tank?

I've been looking online but just couldn't find one that would really suit what she wants. It's supposed to be able to give of enough light at night without having to be too bright. Preferrably with a dimmer type switch. And it shouldn't look like Christmas lights.

One catch: they are used tires. I personally don't mind buying used camping and RVing stuff. They really come out to be a bargain. But if there is one thing that I wouldn't risk is buying used stuff on what I consider to be very important things to keep me and my family safe on the road, and tires are one of them.

Using Propane Heaters at Night???

We just recently installed a Wave Safety Catalytic propane heater in our motorhome. I'm a bit concerned though about using it at night. How safe is it? My friends told me that they don't use them at night. My husband told me that it shouldn't be a problem because motorhomes are pretty much well vented. We can't use the heater that came with our RV because it uses too much power ever since my husband installed a CPAP with an inverter. The thing is, there are times when we go camping and it can really cold that I have a hard time sleeping.

We managed to get a multi-vehicle discount with them and I thought things were okay, until one instance where we had to request for towing assistance with them when our MH got stuck in the sand. Even though our insurance included it, we were still charged $700 by AAA. Now, I'm beginning to wonder if I should switch insurance companies for my MH. Would really appreciate your thoughts on this.
