I don't know if any of this forum's users are also mountaineers, and granted it's Denali. Nonetheless, I think this incident does highlight the fact that we need to be sure if our bodies can take it before we challenge ourselves into doing a potentially strenuous outdoor activity. Sometimes, our enthusiasm just gets the better of us.

Your thoughts?

Rappelling Age Requirement

For our upcoming camping trip, we decided that we'd do a bit of rappelling. My nephew overheard us talking about it and wants to join us. Personally, I don't mind. He's 12 years old and very responsible and mature compared to most kids his age. But his mom won't hear of it, telling us that it's too dangerous and he is underage. That got me thinking. Is there a minimum age requirement for someone to be allowed to go rappelling?

Searching for instructions

I normally don't play games (Drives my DW nuts) but while we were staying at Travel Inn In Elma Wa.

We played a card game called Card Bingo. It wasn't the normal game everyone associates with Bingo.

The game starts with 3-nickles, 3-dimes, 3-quarters and a dollar bill.

Each table consists of 4 players, and a deck of regular Poker style playing cards.

One person deals the cards (13 to each player) in normal style.

Each player arranges the cards in front of thier area, face up. and puts a coin in the pot.

The Caller at the lead table, names the game playing at that time, and this is where I need everyones help!!

What are the various 10 games?

Like (the men throw away thier spades and the girls discard thier diamonds.)

Has anyone played this game or something similar??

cool gadgets article

I like your article on the cool gadgets, I actually bought 1 of those sandwich maker, they are very useful and the bluetooth mirror is a pretty cool idea, never heard about it before.

Interesting find while Hiking

Not sure if this is interesting but we came across a bunch of DANGER signs (hand written). It looks almost like it was homemade. Have actually used it a couple of times.

Another time while I went hiking with a couple of friends in Wisconsin, we stumbled the remains of what looked like a really small and old cabin. It had just a room and a cooking area.

Two guys, Joe & Bill went camping in the desert. After they got their tent all set up, they fell sound asleep.

Some hours later, Joe wakes his faithful friend and says, 'Bill, look up at the sky and tell me what you see.'

Bill replies, 'I see millions of stars.'

'What does that tell you?' asked Joe.

Bill ponders for a minute, then says, 'Astronomically speaking, it tells me that there are millions of galaxies, and potentially billions of planets.

Astrologically, it tells me that Saturn is in Leo. Time wise, it appears to be approximately a quarter past three in the

morning.

Theologically, it's evident the

Lord is all-powerful and we are small, and insignificant.

Meteorologically, it seems we will have a beautiful day tomorrow.

What does it tell you, Joe?'

Joe is silent for a moment, then says, 'Bill, you are so stupid, someone has stolen our tent.

Transformer camper van!

Check out this crazy Japanese camper! It's not only a great way to document your trip for friends and family but Its also a great time to improve. There's always another interesting subject or landscape just around the corner.

I recently made the move from a 35mm film camera to a Digital SLR. I love the instant feed back, no waiting for pictures to develop.

What kind of camera do you use?
