The 1st six feet back became the cargo area by and wtih luggage moved to the front seats to have a bedroom at night. They're using solar lanterns, reflective windows, camp stove, Coleman cooler etc... and .... portable toilets.

Considering that it takes off 20% the regular price of gas when you fill up, it's definitely a great way to save some money while you're out on an RV trip with friends or family, especially at the price of gas these days. Has anyone found something similar to this?

I've checked a few of them, and I don't really see how I'll be able to save when camping here. Practically all only has a daily rate. Haven't found yet one that gives a monthly rate. Most of the private campgrounds I've stayed has a monthly rate of less than $500. If I spend $15/night in a military campground, I have to spend about $450/month. And that's just dry camping. One private campground I've stayed for a month cost the same amount for their monthly rate, but they got full hook ups, cable, WiFi, and other stuff that military campgrounds don't have. The way how I see it, private campgrounds come out more budget friendly. Or am I missing something here?

Lately, I've been considering of getting a set of real dinnerware and utensils (either plastic or ceramic plates and silverware or stainless steel utensils) that we can use whenever we go camping or RVing. No doubt, they are more expensive than the paper stuff if I get them right now. But I'm thinking that they would help us save money in the long run. Anyone can give any suggestions on what brand would be economical?

Cost of A/C Turned On in Motorhome

My wife and I have been trying to compute our expenses while camping to find some ways on how we can trim them down a bit. The trip will be around 1700 miles and from the looks of it, we'll be needing a little over 220 gallons. Have been checking on the route we'll be taking, and found that there are a few gas stations that give a $0.05 discount per gallon if you pay in cash. Thing is, my credit card also gives me a $0.05 per dollar that I will use to pay it for. I'm not sure if I computed it correctly, but it seems that I will be saving more if I just use my credit card, right?

We actually planned on just staying here for two weeks, but we really like it here so much that we tried to see if maybe, just maybe, we could extend for another two weeks for the monthly rate. We talked to the manager and believe it or not, he agreed! Lesson learned: don't hesitate to ask, but if you do, make sure that you ask nicely.

Instead of getting a refrigerator that's specially designed for RVs, they're opting to get one of the residential refrigerators instead, mainly because it's a lot cheaper than RV refrigerators. I've been trying to convince them that getting a residential refrigerator for their camper may not really be a good idea....or am I mistaken? Your thoughts are highly appreciated.

Cheaper on Propane?

With the gas prices going up, I was wondering if it is possible to convert a gas powered generator so that it can run on propane instead. One of the easiest ways to save money while RVing is to stay at places for long periods of time. This will save you money two ways:

1. You'll be spending much less money on fuel

2. You'll spend less on Site fees because nightly rates are more expensive than longer term rates.

While it may not be very enticing at first, you will most certainly make friends with the people at the campground and will become more familiar with the surrounding neighborhood.

RVing in Europe

Does anyone has ever camp or RV in Europe especially France, Spain or Italy, I would like to visit these regions over the summer but information are pretty difficult to find.

Pretty much they want to sell RVs that have been for sale for a good amount of time and for those that are hard to sell. This strategy seems to be working.

This way they enhance their image of used RVs sale and increase their company awareness.

So maybe if it's time for you to change your RV, you may consider it as I'm doing right now.
