| Not as pretty as other state parks | |
We like staying at state parks, but of all the SPs we've been to, Clayton Lake rates below average. We stayed in one of the sites with electric and water hookups, and these sites aren't as pretty as the ones with no hookups. The sites are large, but they are too close together and no shrubbery to lend a sense of privacy. The sites are also not level. We did enjoy birding and fishing at the lake, and there's also a bathhouse in the park.
