Nice State Park - Great Campground

We had full hookup site 42A in Garrett Loop that could easily fit our 32 ft Class C motorhome. It was a level gravel site with a picnic table and fire ring. The services worked well.

There are two loops of wooded sites, each one built around a modern bathhouse in the center. The sites are spacious and sufficiently spread out to provide good privacy. There is a pathway from each site to the bathhouses, so you don't need to walk through anyone else's site. The bathhouses were very clean with hot showers.

There is also a playground in Garrett's Loop as well as a main playground nearby, a pavilion and a small amphitheater. Garrett's loop also has 3 rustic cabins.

We enjoyed the Canyon Trail loop which was very beautiful in the Fall with all the colors. It is a small 1.25 mile loop that follows the Youghiogheny River and passes Muddy Falls, Lower and Upper Swallow Falls and Tolliver Falls. Highly recommended.

There is no cell phone coverage here or WiFi.

Only complaint is they only recycle aluminum cans and not paper, plastic and glass. There really is no excuse for State Parks that promote conservation not to recycle paper, plastic and glass.

We enjoyed our stay and will come again when in the area.

We stayed here in a Class C Motorhome.
