Bayou Segnette State Park offers the best of everything. Just a thirty-minute drive across the Mississippi River from New Orleans, a multitude of recreational opportunities awaits visitors of all ages--boating, fishing, canoeing, picnicking, playgrounds and, of course, swimming in the wave pool, as well as an ecosystem that offers you the chance to spot plants, trees and wildlife from both swamps and marshland.

Both salt and freshwater fishing are available because of the park's unique location. From the boat launch, you may explore many areas not readily accessible by overland routes.

On land, picnic areas are available for the whole family, and the playgrounds will delight the children. Group shelters are a perfect spot for large groups to gather, and the park's group camp provides another option for big gatherings.

Very nice area. Only about 20 minutes from downtown. The park is incredibly well kept. Showers were REALLY clean! It is close to a lot of water, so bring bug spray! But the sites are large and the RV pads are paved and loooonnggg.

We stayed here in a Class A Motorhome.

Great new restrooms with laundry facilities. Out in a quiet area south of New Orleans and away from all the hustle and bustle. Wide spaces w/ nice lawn area. Also easy access to nearby markets, pharmacy and fresh seafood.

We stayed here in a Travel Trailer.

Good Park Bad Management.

1. Poor direction sign outside and inside the park.
2. Lack Of quiet time enforcement. There was an irresponsible big 40 Ft. Class A on
Site#1 on April 28, 2012 starting the engine to go the dump site at
10.15 PM at night. They have as many as 3 couples still gathering around and made a loud noise for more than .45 mins. No Park Ranger around.
4. Barth room and Shower are poorly maintained.
5. A rip off of $10.00 as transaction fee on top of first night stay charge for walk in.

Hope Governor Bobby Jindal could do something.

We stayed here in a Tent.

It's a wonderful park to come and unwind. The sites are really spacious and very level. The staff is very friendly and hard working. You can always see someone keeping the bathrooms and grounds clean. Would really be better if there was a lot more shade here. Overall, still a great campground to visit.

We stayed here in a Class C Motorhome.
