Local Directions: From Weirsdale, drive east on SR 42 for 7.4 miles. At the blinker, turn left onto SE 182nd Avenue Rd. Drive 4.1 miles to FR 14, on the right. FR 14 is an unimproved road, sometimes deep in soft sand in spots. After approx. 3 miles, the campground is on the left at a crossroad. It can also be accessed from SR 40 by driving south on FR 13, a signed but unimproved road, for approximately 6 miles.

Camping with OHV Trail Access

Welcome to camping in the worlds largest sandpine scrub ecosystem. Enjoy wildlife watching for scrub jays, sandhill cranes, gopher tortises, bears, and eagles. Perennially popular with ATV riders, the Big Scrub Campground is in the heart of a large scrub ecosystem in the south central portion of the Ocala National Forest. A trailhead within the campground provides riders campsite-to-trail access for the Centennial OHV Trail.
