South Abutment is a nice park. There are three campsites, but only one takes reservations. They have done a lot of work here over the last five years. Several of the sites now are completely level and new picnic tables and grills have been added. The bathhouses are clean. There is not a swim beach in the camping area, but it is just a short drive or 10 minute walk. Arkabutla has more water in it currently than it has had in a very long time. We were here over Memorial Day weekend and it was crowded and hot. I am looking forward to doing some cool weather camping here soon.
