A nice, quiet getaway

Jumbo Rocks is a very beautiful campground. It's rustic and quiet and not so crowded as the other campgrounds in Joshua Tree NP. Be warned, though: this is a total dry camping experience, as there are no hookups, no water and no dump stations. The only amenities in the area are outhouse toilets, but they are very clean. In addition, the sites are a bit on the small side, so large RVs may find it difficult to maneuver here.

We stayed here in a Class C Motorhome.

Spectacular desert views

Although there are sites that seem big enough for large RVs, I'd say this campground is more for tenters and small RVs. That being said, it's beautiful here. The desert views are just so magical. Each site is surrounded by boulders and this gives a sense of privacy. You can't see or hear your neighbors and your vehicle blocks access to your site. Take care of your pullouts or awnings, though. The sites are close by the road so they can get hit by passing traffic. No hookups, no water or dump station and you can turn your generator on for three two-hour periods each day. The place is very clean but I wish my neighbors picked after themselves. Still, this is an awesome campground and we'll definitely stay here again.

We stayed here in a Travel Trailer.
