Park is great, but if more than 30 feet in length DO NOT do this site

Campsites are very spartan. Water nearby. Deer ambling near office and at Derksen RV site at dawn and dusk, really amazing. Big Basin Park nearby too. HUGE redwoods.
We came up in a Ram 3500 Pickup towing our 37 foot 5th wheel RV.

WOULD NOT ADVISE anyone to duplicate our road trip along Little Basin road or the last 1.7 miles to the state park. VERY windy, very steep drop offs, Road has soft shoulders (one cube van was close to toppling over into the ravine). WHITE KNUCKLED grip on steering wheel, and the 1.7 miles took about 35 minutes.

The RV sites at the state park are pretty much a joke as well. One has water and 50 amp power, but all of them are extremely narrow. Basically, to back into any of them you're either going uphill or driving all over the grass, which posed a problem as the RV almost hit the bed of the truck since half the wheels were on cement and the other half are sinking into the grass.

In summary, really nice park but bad for RVs of any length in the park and the road to it.

We stayed here in a 5th Wheel.
