Lovely, private campsites on South Fork of Rio Grande in Colorado mountains. Cool in July. Fire ban on so we missed the campfire, but husband and grandson could fish the creek/river. Our site was one that backed up right to the creek. Clean 😊pit toilets. Only downside was highway noise (US 160) on one side and a busy FS gravel road across the creek. After dark it was fairly quiet. Located 7 miles to So Fork, CO. Good fishing!

We stayed here in a 5th Wheel.

This is a gem of a campsite that we happened upon right off the highway, so accessible by all vehicle types.
The sites are great! It's heavily wooded, has river access and though neighboring campers are close-by, it feels very private due to the trees.
There is no camp host, but wood is available for purchase. The pit toilets are very clean. There is water and trash service at the campground.
If you need ice, groceries or fishing supplies, South Fork is less than 8 miles away.
The only down-side is that you can hear the highway traffic from the campground, though you can't really see it. The Rio Grande River runs pretty strongly through this area and its sound is more dominant than the highway, so the highway noise is tolerable.
Fishing is pretty good right from camp or from a short hike along the Rio Grande south from camp to an area with some beautiful canyon-like rock walls with slower-moving pools.

We stayed here in a Tent.
