Nice Campground with apple orchard

July 30, 2015
This campground is aptly named Fruita for its apple orchards. We had fun picking apples for free here and snacking on them. It's also a good place to use as a base for exploring Capital Reef. They've got a general store and although the campground doesn't have hookups, it does have a dump station and faucets around the place. The place is clean and the camp hosts friendly and helpful. Lots of room on the sites and the sites have good spaces in between for privacy. They aren't so level, but you won't notice that until you try to level your rig. For a campground in the desert, it's a nice surprise to find sites surrounded by mature shade trees. It's very pleasant here.

We stayed here in a Class C Motorhome.

Right in the midst of wonderful orchards, a National Park with miles of hiking trails and dirt roads to explore. Plus a quiet, orderly and most reasonably priced park.
Free fruit, tame deer and wonderful homemade pies along with breathtaking scenery

We stayed here in a Travel Trailer.
