Terrific tent campground for hiking Devil's Tower

July 17, 2013
On our 10-day, 9-night road trip, we spent six nights camping in various campgrounds between Minnesota, South Dakota, Wyoming and Montana, and this was my son's and my favorite campground of all of them. The grounds were very well kept as were the facilities. They offer a nightly showing of "Close Encounters" for those interested, and there is a nice general store with friendly staff to assist you. The campground is literally right at the gate to the park, so it is a nice three-mile hike to get up to the base of Devils Tower. Top it off with spacious tent sites away from the RV's with great views of Devils Tower and red rock bluffs, and you simply have a great place to rest after a day of hiking. We look forward to a return trip!

We stayed here in a Tent.
