Nice Lakeside RV spots and Lots of Trees
tumbleweed
Newbie
December 14, 2014
An older campground buried in a temperate rain forest south of Pisgah National Forest. Has lots of charm and good lake access plus some lake side rv sites. Unique compared to other lakeside campgrounds there are full hookups for many of the lake sites. A separate swimming pond was clean, well kept and with good water quality. The lake is good for kayak/canoeing with a nice water fall only a mile row away.
Neighboring Dupont State Forest is packed with hiking trails and other waterfalls (some pretty good ones too).
Only criticism are the largely poor condition gravel roads and limited wifi. Also be prepared for lots of rain. Prices are so-so and there's a 2 week max stay.

We stayed here in a Class A Motorhome.
