We chose this park because we love that most state parks have campgrounds with lovely natural settings. We were visiting family on Marco Island and this location was so convenient. However, this park had terrible camping facilities. The campsites were too small, overcrowded, and had no appeal at all! We had difficulty maneuvering around the park with our trailer and avoiding parked vehicles and darting children on bikes. It was an unsafe situation. I suspect we would have enjoyed some of the hiking if we had time, but the campground left us feeling so uncomfortable, I doubt we will ever return.
We stayed here in a Travel Trailer. | | | Comments (0) |

This campground is in a swamp, so there will be some mosquitoes during warmer weather, but the surrounding beauty more than compensates. Offering a mix of water/electric RV hook-up sites, dual dumping stations and primitive camping sites visitors can enjoy canoeing on the lake, strolling through a well-marked nature trail or biking. Rental canoes are available for $5 per hour or launch your own boat on the ramp. Enjoy a lakeside picnic in covered pavilions or do some fishing. Just a short drive from Naples and Marco Island, this campground is well-located in southwest Florida just off the Tamiami Trail. A small store and fuel is available just a short walk or bike ride from the campground's main entrance. There are no laundry facilities or long-term residents but friendly, helpful park rangers and reasonable fees.
We stayed here in a Class A Motorhome. | | | Comments (0) |
