Not a good park for RV'ers

I cannot honestly recommend this park. I stayed there with some family over a four day weekend. This is what I call a "sardine park" They have taken a small area and crammed as many sites as possible into the park. There are two areas, one on the lake side with a beach and another across the street. I stayed across the street with my coach. I was so close to the coach next to me, I couldnt even put out my awning. There are some "ok" sites with a little more room. But if you arrive late in the day, dont even think about getting one of those. Most of the RV'ers I spoke with were not happy. The price was 35 bucks a night for a site with electric and sewer. No cable. There was also only one bathroom open for the entire park. Very dirty and for some reason, it was a gathering place for every kid in the park. One plus, it is at the entrance to Presque Isle state park. Hills family campground is where I stay now.

We stayed here in a Class A Motorhome.

This campground is right next to Presque Isle State Park. You can choose to camp on the beach or accross the street. I've always stayed across the street because the beachside is very windy and I'm not a fan of sand blowing into my tent. The campsites are not marked, so it's a "claim your own territory" deal. There are picnic tables scattered around and fire pits. Depending on where you choose to set up camp the bathrooms may be very far away. This area is said to have the best sunsets apart from Hawaii. There is a small 50's style diner which often hosts bands and always has delicious food. Most of my summers have been spent here since I discovered it a few years ago.
