| Pretty, but not looked after very well | |
I've made a short video review, showing every corner of the park. https://youtu.be/YT83xPKtTZc Medina Lake Thousand Trails is in a very pretty location - a huge territory with a lot of trees, a nice lake. Deer walking everywhere, tons of them! It has a very big potential, though is not very well-run at the moment. Many sites are closed (power doesn't work there), many sites, doesn't have a sewer. Many branches need cutting, some amenities have to be better looked after. They also charge for incoming packages 5 dollars each, and do not accept USPS at all. The bathhouses are clean. Many dumpsters all over the park. The park is pretty though and the deer! So many deer. And roadrunners :) The stuff was not always eager to solve the problems. I've heard that the cabins are nice.
Your stay here will mostly depend on your expectations so far. For us - the deer won over everything.

Visited this park summer 2013, and found it in horrible shape....the grounds looked like the park was abandoned. Grass was waist high on most sites and all roads. Campsite pads were overloaded with leaves and under growth. Tree limbs overtaking many sites for all but a pop up unit. The male cook at the "family center" forgot he was at a campground and apparently thought he was back in the navy cause he cussed like a sailor, even in front of the kids. We sat at the pool and contacted maintenance about a huge wasp nest right at the hot tub. The guy came, sprayed some wasp freeze, left the over spray dripping all over the patio, and didn't even bother walking the rest of the deck to see the other two nests. COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE FOR A THOUSAND TRAILS PARK! Several "members" of this park told me that this park has been steadily declining in appearance even after numerous complaints to the manager.
