Decent place for a weekend

This no frills campground has electricity at the sites. The sites are small to decent size depending on the selection. Two things that stand out: availability two days prior to a 4th of July weekend and lots of hiking trails.

We stayed here in a Travel Trailer.

Good and not so good

The Warning: Do NOT use the OH DNR map directions or Google. The camp is located in the eastern portion of the park on CoRd 218. Go east on 218 until you see the sign for East Camp.
The Good: Nice, quiet campground with excellent hosts and caretakers. Clean bathroom with vault toilets. Lots of shady spots. Convenient to I-75 and to Findlay which has a number of things to do. Even when full the campsites are such that you feel private.
The bad: no showers, there seems to be no ventilation in the bathrooms so they get hot, Bugs-yes, I know they are all over but bring a zapper-the flies don't care about bug spray. The water may be contaminated with fertilizer and pesticide run-off from surrounding agribusiness. Come fully loaded with water and buy bottled drinking water if you use a lot. This may be a temporary problem but be safe.
Overall, we actually loved this campground because of the people there and the quiet. There is a train that goes by but we honestly did not notice it and though I-75 is close, the traffic is a hum at worst-more like white noise. It's not a place we'd recommend for a long stay but it's great for an overnight of several days. We went to Dayton from here and though a 2 hour drive it was nice to come back here for the night.

We stayed here in a Class A Motorhome.
