The seasonal guests, who all know each other, are not so welcoming to newbies and outsiders. A few of them act as if they own the place. Otherwise, the staff are very accommodating and they've done a good job in keeping the place clean, neat and comfortable. In fact, they are pretty OC when it comes to the cleanliness of the place. They've got large and level sites with full hookups and wi-fi but no cable TV. Lots of trees, but they didn't interfere with our satellite signal. Lovely amenities, including a hiking trail, a hot tub, weekly coffee and doughnuts. Quite isolated, though, with the nearest Wal-Mart some 23 miles away. A truly lovely place if not for those snobby cliques.
We stayed here in a Class C Motorhome. | | Comments (0) |

| A very nice campground in a not-so-quiet neighborhood | |
On its own, Zane Grey is a beautiful campground. Its management keeps every inch of it clean and in tiptop shape, even though that can be a challenge with all the cottonwood trees dropping leaves and cotton all day long. All the facilities, from the utilities to the fixtures in the bathroom, are all in good working order. The sites are very wide and roomy. Full hookups available and the wi-fi has excellent speed. I also like it that there's a large pavillion in the campground where the staff lights up campfires and invites everyone to join in and hang out there. It gives a nice sense of community in the park. The only thing that spoils what could have been perfection is the neighborhood surrounding the park. It's noisy out there, with people partying and dogs barking at night. There's also a lot of road noise on the weekends. But I do understand that it's entirely out of the staff's control.
We stayed here in a 5th Wheel. | | Comments (0) |
