Basic Campground - Nice State Park

Campground is primitive with pit toilets. The sites are gravel, flat and wide with picnic tables, fire rings and grills. There are no showers. It is relatively shaded with lots of trees.
The Potomac River runs by the campground, so you can swim or canoe/kayak. You also have the C&O canal and Western Maryland Rail Trail running right by the campground too offering nice hiking and biking opportunities.
Main attraction is the fort built to protect the Western frontier during the French and Indian wars. Very impressive, we had it to ourselves as we stayed during the week. Only shame was the buildings in the fort were closed and there was no one there to provide a guided tour. So make sure you go on a weekend.
We stayed here in a Class C Motorhome.
