Reservation's a good idea if you want full hookups, of which there were only a few. Some sites are more private than others, but all pretty well spaced. Saw a Mule Deer around everyday. Most convenient location for Mesa Verde, obviously. Also, there's pretty, nice restaurant at Far View Lodge, the Metate Room Restaurant....a nice treat.
We stayed here in a Travel Trailer.
good rural campground near Mesa Verde sites

Managed to get one of the 15 full hook-ups. Per-booked via Internet 2 days prior. Just a rural site but nice shrubbery for privacy. We could not tune into wifi, not even at the laundry near the shops.
Stayed two nights.
Would stay there again
We stayed here in a Class C Motorhome.
Nice campground but a bit pricey.

Campground was nice. Running water at the campsite bathroom. Has wi-fi, shower and laundry facilities adjacent to the general store. A bit pricey for camping without utilities, but you are in Mesa Verde. Scenery was average. Very quiet and each camp site offers some privacy with surrounding greenery.
We stayed here in a Tent.
