Wide Variety of Open & Shaded Campsites

Holly Acres has obviously been around for awhile and is one of the larger commercial campgrounds that we have visited.

It has level, big-rig, pull-through sites with full hookups and more remote and larger campsites surrounded by shrubs, offering only 30-amp electric and water hookups. Aside from the open and shaded campsites, there is a rundown miniature golf course, a clean swimming pool with spots of missing paint, a playground, pavilion, small lake, small store, modern laundry and a few rental cabins.

The front entrance is gate-controlled. An electronic swipe key to open the gate requires a $20 cash deposit, refundable at checkout. The swipe panel for the key is the right height for a pickup truck or Class B or C motorhome, but is too low for the driver of a Class A motorhome to reach without hanging out the window.

At the campground check-in office they sell a few groceries and camper supplies. We found most the staff to be courteous and helpful.

Although we had a pleasant stay I encountered three issues that peeved me. First, our campsite's electric, water and cable hookups were about 35 feet away from our sewer connection, making setup somewhat awkward and requiring extra sewer hose. Second the Wi-Fi service was so slow as to be completely useless. Third, the water pressure was barely 32 PSI which required that we run our coach pump in order to have adequate pressure. Those three peeves cost them one star.

We stayed here in a Class A Motorhome.
