Hidden Gem
Bob Vaughn
Elite
August 20, 2014
This hidden gem is off the beaten path. They have a sign on I-40 west of Knoxville and west of I-75. They need a sign on Rt 311 because we would have missed it had we not programmed it into our GPS. The road leading to it is paved, one lane, about 1/2 mile. The park is divided into two sections. The first section has about 25 sites and is located on a lake that is divided int the middle. One side is trout and the other side is catfish. Up until 2006 there was a restaurant that would cook the fish for you once you caught them. There is a grist mill there also. We had a pull-through site beside a babbling brook. There is also a swimming pool. The park is self-check in. The bathhouse is old but clean. This park is off the beaten path.

We stayed here in a 5th Wheel.
