Very nice RV Park

We stayed in this park as an alternative to staying in a hotel in the French Quarter. I was very satisfied with this park and would definitely stay again. Staff was great. WiFi worked perfectly at the office but not at all in the RV. It's a little hard to get to and pretty pricey. There is a restaurant with surprisingly good food. Nice pool and bar. Waterfront is not what I expected. It's basically overlooking a canal. I thought we would be overlooking the lake itself. The website makes it look more "resorty" than it actually is. Definitely a very good RV park, though.

We stayed here in a 5th Wheel.

Ok - Could Be Great

Located on Pontchartrain Lake, about a 20 min drive from the French Quarter. This could be a incredible resort, but isn't able to pull it off. Has a big bar, restaurant, live entertainment and a nice pool, is very clean, sites are flat and gravel, services worked well, bathhouses are modern and clean. Well stocked camping store and provides a shuttle service that runs 3 times a day to the French Quarter. Has controlled access gate.

However, what it needs to address to be given a top rating are:

1) WiFi is non existent. You cannot access even your email on a regular basis.
2) Staff when managing bookings or in the store are rude, no idea what good customer service is.
3) Dust - every time anyone drives by there is a big cloud of dust. RV and car covered after staying 3 nights.
4) No shade - Gets very hot, especially in the Summer.
5) Sites are too close together.
6) The waterfront view are not especially scenic or impressive - look over the canal to buildings opposite.
7) Too expensive.

Other challenge with staying here Is it is located in remote part of New Orleans where the access road is uneven and you need to cross a railway track to get there. Trains occasionally stop for 30 mins at a time, blocking the road so you cannot reach the resort.

We stayed here in a Class C Motorhome.

I'd highly recommend this campground. Nice landscaped area with really spacious sites. Offers free shuttle service to and from the French Quarter. Great marina and houseboat. Make sure to come over and try the pizza at their outdoor bar. It's the best!

We stayed here in a Class A Motorhome.
