This campground is set in a very picturesque mountain setting near Palomar Observatory. There is a mixture of oaks and pines. Many areas are cleared of trees so stargazers can get a clear view of the stars. There are telescope pads near space 40. There are several pit toilets and one flush toilet bathroom that is apparently only open during the season. There are also coin-operated showers. Make sure to bring insect repellent as the black flies and mosquitoes are truly bothersome.

We stayed here in a Popup Trailer.
