| Convenient Mid-State Campground Just Off I-85 | |
Open all year, this campground is just a short drive off of I-85 but far enough away from the highway noise to be reasonably peaceful. There is a railroad track that is near enough to the campground for us to hear the trains passing through but it didn't disturb our sleep. Facilities are modern. There are both back-in and pull-through sites with full hookups and all are fairly level.
Upon our arrival at 5:00 pm their office was closing but we were given campground literature, our site assignment and a campground map. When my wife asked about their Wi-Fi she was told that the access code was in their brochure. Once we got set up at our site, I found their Wi-Fi signal, saw that it was encrypted but could not find the access code anywhere in their brochure. I called the campground's phone but got a message that their office was closed and that my call would be returned the next day.
Needless to say, their Wi-Fi was useless to us without the code. At noon the following day, after we had been on the road for several hours, our call was finally returned. Everything at the campground worked for us but the Wi-Fi, earning my four star rating, but I am amazed at campground operators who shut down in the early afternoon and ignore all afternoon and evening calls until the next day.
If you're passing through North Carolina and call this campground for accommodations after 5:00 pm, you'll be out-of-luck.
We stayed here in a Class A Motorhome. | | Comments (0) |
