Great campground with excellent access to explore Charleston

Campground is a big surprise...shady, well-kept and lots to do here including trails, rentals, LP refills and a waterpark. Downtown Charleston is less than 15 minutes away! We stayed in a 28' travel trailer.

We stayed here in a Travel Trailer.

Closest Campground to Charleston and the Beaches

We were pleasantly surprised with the quality and amenities of this campground. Spacious sites are sand and gravel covered, fairly level with full hookups and enough shrubs between sites to give campers some privacy. There is a camp store with some basic food and beverage items, RV and camping supplies and plenty of souvenirs. Bathrooms and showers are clean and reasonably modern. Coin operated laundry machines are openly accessible.

Just a short distance from the campground itself there are elaborate park facilities and a playground that should be sufficient to keep youngsters entertained. There are miles of paved biking and hiking trails, a saltwater fishing and crabbing dock, fresh water fishing, boat, bike and kayak rentals.

Just a short drive from the campground is Folly Beach. Free parking near the beach at Folly Beach County Park, 1100 West Ashley is available with proof of campground registration.

Although the campground doesn't offer cable TV, we were able to clearly receive 14 digital TV channels with our rooftop antenna. The campground offers free unencrypted Wi-Fi, which was not particularly fast, but was reliable and serviceable. During my years of motorhome travels, I'm hard pressed to remember any campground that offered more value for the money than this one.

We stayed here in a Class A Motorhome.

Best Campground Ever!

This is one of the best campgrounds we've ever stayed at. Aside from already the loads of activities that they offer, guests here got free access to the amenities at Charleston County Park. Wi-Fi worked like a charm. The site that they gave us was huge. Lots of vegetation that offered some privacy. It even has an area where we can build a campfire.

We stayed here in a Class C Motorhome.
