Convenient Enough for a Stop - Nice Enough for a Stay

We needed a place to stay for just one night, but if we had the time, this campground would have been an attractive place for us to stay for a few days. Just a short drive from Interstate 40 and about eight miles east of Nashville, the lake, boat launch, playground, adjacent water park and jet ski rentals offer many diversions and ample entertainment.

The campground offers level, clean, paved back-in and pull-through sites with modern hookups that are accessible with the the biggest rigs, even with toads. Many sites are lakefront with beautiful views. The interior sites are spacious and attractive.

The store, laundry and bath house are clean and modern. We didn't price admission to the adjacent water park but thought that $100/hour for jet-ski rentals was awfully expensive. Rates for the campground itself were competitive. Analog cable-TV is available, but digital Nashville channels can be received over the air in HD. Wi-Fi worked well, was reasonably fast and included.

Fortunately we were early-risers. My wife and I were already out for a stroll, but I thought that their maintenance crew was running their power mowers through the sites awfully early at 8:00 am.

We would not hesitate to stay there again. Our time there was pleasant and a good value.

We stayed here in a Class A Motorhome.

We stayed on Sunday through Wednesday with friends and lucked out with perfect weather. We had site #35, lakefront with a nice shade tree for our two dogs. Lakefront sites have a steep slope at the rear of the site, rendering some of the "yard" area useless, but was not an issue for us. The view made it well worth it. Pet-friendly park with a large, off-leash dog area. Sites were smallish but staggered, and the lakefront sites offer a spectacular view. The water park was only open on Sunday during our stay so the park was very quiet and peaceful. Restrooms were extremely clean, staff was very nice and helpful and the grounds were clean. Jet ski rentals on the lake were open even when the water park was not. As mentioned in a previous review, main downfall is the weather was hot and, since the water park was not open, there was no beach access from the park to get to the water to swim. Wi-Fi was available with many hotspots, but connections were still slow and spotty. Overall, one of the best campgrounds we've been to. Not sure how much we would like it during peak water park season, but I would love to come back again during the off-season.

We stayed here in a Travel Trailer.
