Great campground with fabulous views

Great campground. Very well maintained. Sites for RVs are nice and flat on packed gravel. Tent sites are shady. There are several sections to accommodate all types of rigs and levels of privacy. Impressed with extensive dog walk areas, through woods etc. Playground is great for kids. Nice and new and well kept. Lovely views of the ocean. Lots of washers and dryers in the laundry. Bathrooms are nice and clean. People are friendly. Only gripe is that the campground wifi is very slow and at times does not work. It would be a firm 5 stars if they got that working well.

We stayed here in a Class C Motorhome.

Closest to Town & To Acadia National Park Visitor Center

There are numerous campgrounds in the Bar Harbor area, including two in Acadia National Park, but this one has reasonable rates, included Wi-Fi, offers full hook-ups, is nearest to downtown Bar Harbor and to the Acadia National Park visitor center. They have both shaded back-in sites and open pull-through sites, but no store for supplies, though they do sell firewood, ice and propane. Bring cash. This campground does not accept advance reservations, checks or credit cards, but it is usually able to accommodate campers comfortably.

We arrived at about 8:30 pm in mid-September and still had our choice of several spacious, level sites. We were invited to pick one we liked, park and pay the next morning. Once there, we could leave our motorhome parked. Free shuttle buses connect this and other campsites to town and to Acadia's visitor center.

A sign in front of the campground office advertised an outside vendor who promised to deliver a fresh, hot lobster dinner for two to our campsite for $29.95 + tax. We called and placed our order to have it delivered at 7:00 pm. Our dinner arrived as promised, piping hot and included two 1 1/2 pound boiled lobsters, two big boiled stone crabs, a couple of extra claws and two ears of roasted corn. It was a fabulous and memorable feast.

Our experience with this campground and its staff was positive. We will stay there again on our next visit to Bar Harbor.

We stayed here in a Class A Motorhome.

Many tent sites in woods, very private, wonderful RV sites in the trees as well. Location is perfect for touring Acadia National Park. Free shuttle bus comes every half hour. Large pool. 7th night free. We enjoyed our site overlooking French Bay. View only. No reservations but if you arrive between 9 and 1pm you will find a site.

We stayed here in a Class B Motorhome.

We were just a short drive from Acadia National Park and downtown Bar Harbor. Good rates. Nice-sized sites. Enjoyed our stay here very much. We were in a shaded spot in mid-September.

We stayed here in a Class A Motorhome.
