This is a park mostly set up for "park models." An RV sales center selling park models is attached to the park. Selling the RVs along with what looks to be deeded sites seems to be the focus here. There is a weekender area and we ended up staying a larger space (X-1) which is intended for a full timer. The space itself was spacious and good if you have dogs. The space was literally next to the dumpster but it didn't bother us much. After looking at the normal spaces for weekenders, I would probably not go back as they are small pull-throughs that don't have a lot of room. The roads are skinny and take some extra caution when maneuvering around. The staff seemed good and accommodating; the amenities looked good although we mostly stuck to our site. Overall a very shaded park on a nice lake although after exploring other nearby State Parks I would try to go to those first before returning to Fish Lake. Not a bad place at all, just not that setup for weekenders as much as full-timers.

When it comes to facilities and amenities, this CG is okay. The grounds are clean and well-maintained, including the bathrooms and laundry. The pool is very nice. There's also a nice playground for the kids. Now, this CG would be nicer if it didn't have too many trees. It's dark and there are lots of mosquitoes about. It's impossible to get satellite TV and it's difficult to back up. You've got to be extra careful if you've got a big rig too because aside from the trees, the roads are also pretty narrow. Wi-fi is not free and is also unreliable.

Lots of permanent sites but it worked for us needing to go to Chicago. Friendly staff, clean well run park.....could use a bark park. Gated. The staff recommended a lady that likes to dog sit in the park.....that meant a lot to us....to have our boxer happy.

This campground has a small area for "weekenders". The pool was very nice with baby pool and hot tub-lifeguard on duty. We really enjoyed walking through the campgrounds on the paved roads and looking at the permament sites with beautiful landscaping. The fish were not biting while we were there, but we did go out on a row boat. It was a windy day and when I could not get the boat back in, the lifeguard brought a boat out and towed me in. I was really glad he was there!! The beach was really nice and each morning it was raked and cleaned up. There was grills at the beach and I would like to go back when the weather is a little better and take advantage of that! There is also a small arcade and activitities in the pavilion. | | Comments (0) |
