This modern state park with campsites covers nearly 3,000 acres, including hiking trails, primitive campsites and both back-in and pull-through RV sites. We stayed there in late January which is their off-season, so we had our choice of dozens of campsites with electric and water hook-ups. None have sewer or cable TV connections nor access to Wi-Fi. Our Verizon cellphone reception was spotty and over-the-air TV reception at our site was non-existent. A sanitary dump station is available for emptying waste tanks.

Our interactions with the campground hosts and staff were all cordial. RV sites were clean, spacious, mostly level and far enough apart to provide some privacy. Each has a picnic table and fire ring. All of their facilities were modern and well-maintained.

There is an attractive visitor center, a Chattahoochee Riverfront boat launch facility and a security gate that closes at 10:00 pm. There are both standard and handicap accessible restrooms and shower facilities that were spotlessly clean. Since this facility is nowhere near highways, railroad tracks or other sources of noise, and there weren't many other campers, we found this campground to be exceptionally quiet.

For campers who don't mind driving about a dozen miles off the beaten path to get to this park and who prefer the "outdoor experience" over being connected with cellphones, Internet and TV, this is a cost-effective way to do it.

We stayed here in a Class A Motorhome.
