Local Directions: From South: The major access point is along VT Rt. 17 for the Long Trail, which crosses the road at the top of Appalachian Gap. The parking area next to VT Rt. 17 is available year round. Approaching from the west it is about 9.6 miles from VT Rt. 17’s junction with VT Rt. 116 near Bristol, approaching from the east it is about 6.1 miles from VT Rt. 17’s junction with VT Rt. 100 in the Waitsfield area.
