Terrific people and terrific tent camping (June 2013)

My son and I chose this place on Campfinder.com because it was on our route from Mt. Rushmore to Devil's Tower, and out of six campgrounds where we set up tent, this one took a very close second place on our favorites list. We loved the staff, who were very accommodating despite our slightly late arrival (allowing us to catch our trout and cooked it up for us 15 minutes after close), and the grounds, although a bit crowded when compared to other campgrounds where we stayed, were fairly well-kept and nice. The babbling brook running through the grounds was a welcome addition to the tall pines and the blanket of stars overhead. For an independent campground, you can't find one much better than this one in the area. This is a very family-friendly campground. We will certainly return if our journey takes us back through the Black Hills.

We stayed here in a Tent.
