Great little 3 day getaway

We decided to take a quick little 3 day/ 2 night getaway for my boyfriend's birthday and ended up at this very quaint little crabbing/fishing camp. There were three of us including my boyfriend and I along with his 7 yr old daughter. The little cabins were just perfect. Since we were traveling from Denver, packing all of our tents, packs, bags, tools, etc. and carrying them on a plane seemed just too tedious for 2 nights. The cabin include a bunk bed where the bottom bunk pulled out to a double bed, mattresses, small fridge, microwave, table and chairs. All we needed to bring was our sleeping bags and pillows. We rented a boat and some rings to head out crabbing in the morning and had a BLAST! We brought in well, over 75 crabs. Only 2 were the legal limit & that's all we needed to fill us up. And the memories... just an unforgettable experience. The staff was fun, friendly and knowledgeable. Shirley, the owner was very quick to remedy any and all issues we had including finding a single candle for a birthday muffin and threw in extra birthday crab ring. In addition, the location of the camp was perfect. We were just a quick 5 min drive to the town of Rockaway and the beach along with a great little no frills cafe, The Cow Bell Cafe, for breakfast and less then 30 min to Tillamook and the best cheese and ice cream known to man.

We are all looking forward to returning for some more crabbing fun.

We stumbled upon this place today and are glad we did. Small park with minimal amenities. But sites are lined up along the river, the crab shack is cooking fresh crabs, oysters and clams. The beer is cold and the sunset is spectacular. If you need to be entertained, this place is not for you but if your idea of paradise is watching a sunset as the river goes by and eating fresh seafood this is your kind of place. I give it a 6 on the view and a 4 on the facilities for a 5 overall.

We stayed here in a Class B Motorhome.

My husband and I live only 20 miles from here and go quite often, especially during the week or out of season. The smell of the community fire that's always going, the activity around the clam shack cooking area, well, it's always interesting. EVERY time we have been there, there have been 50 or more sea lions sleeping on the opposite side of the river. It just a nice place....

We stayed here in a Class C Motorhome.
