Such a Shame, Could Be Great with Some TLC

A large resort near Lake Conroe. As seems to be the norm with TT, this park is badly in need of some TLC. The roads are narrow, uneven and full of potholes. It was a real challenge not to ground the bottom of the car, and sometimes I did. The same goes for the sites. Most are not level with holes in them. There are a few gems, but they are of course taken by the long termers. The sites are FHU, gravel and have a picnic table. There are some fire rings around, but they are few. The services worked well on our site, although the outlet socket was cracked and had lots of red ants living in it.

The bathhouses, whilst clean, are old and need upgrading. The fitness center was good and the mini golf. They do have some nice basketball courts too and the cabins looked nice from the outside and had BBQ grills. The laundry worked well, although there were only four washers and four dryers near the activity center and there were lots of people there, so some waiting was involved. However, there is another laundry facility in another part of the park too.

The staff at the gatehouse were fabulous. Very friendly and helpful. There was some construction going on at the time we were there - but not on the roads. The talk in the resort is the management has said there will be improvements made soon.

The sites are not by the lake itself, but only a short walk away.

I would only recommend staying here if you can stay for free.

We stayed here in a Class C Motorhome.

Stayed here in May 2013, and found this to be a nice Thousand Trails park. Has big sites and plenty of them. Very few have shade and those are filled with mostly full time weekend warriors. Several of these rigs need to be demolished due to neglect. Several bathhouses that were clean. Has boat ramp and fish cleaning pavilion. Nice pool, hot tub and activity center. BUT THE ROADS ARE HORRIBLE! Asphalt wore out in the 80s has only been poorly patched with gravel fill. Some potholes were 3 ft or more round and 1-2 ft deep. Unacceptable for such an otherwise well-groomed park.

We stayed here in a Class A Motorhome.
