Great place, but best in cool weather!

Village Creek State Park is a wonderful place to spend the day or camp for several days. It is located on Crowley's Ridge, just outside of Wynne, AR. It is 20 minutes north of Forrest City and a hour outside of Memphis, TN. It has two small lakes and several trails. Lake Austell has a boat ramp (no large engines) and all the day activities. Lake Dunn also has a boat ramp (no large engines) and dock. There are 10 cabins that can be rented and 3 camp grounds. The lower campground has water and 30 amp electric. The middle campground caters to larger RVs and has level sites, electric, water, and our favorite--sewer hook up! The upper camp ground is an equestrian site with stables.

We have camped here twice this year. The grounds are very clean and well kept. We stayed in lower site for a weekend in late May. It was cool and perfect campfire weather. Our site was shady and the creek was just behind us. We camped in the middle camp ground over the 4th of July and stayed for 5 days this time. We were almost taken away by the mosquitoes. There is a private swim beach for campers at the middle camp ground, but SEVERAL non campers were driving in and using it and the beach area is steep and muddy. Not a place I enjoyed.

Village Creek will be our go-to cool weather campground. I look forward to going back.

We stayed here in a Travel Trailer.

Nice state park for a weekend or overnight stop

We stopped here overnight while driving IH-40. The park is only about 7 miles off the road and easy to get to. Sites are large and private. Flat and good pavement in campground. Utilities worked well. Friendly staff. Discount for seniors even from out of state. Small lake in park also.

We stayed here in a 5th Wheel.

Very nice place to stay- variety of sites

We liked this park because there was plenty of space between most sites. The newer section was very well appointed with gravel next to the pads and concrete under the picnic tables. The older area was still nice- just older. Lots of shaded spots- very quiet. Some decent hiking. We would definitely stay here again

We stayed here in a Travel Trailer.
