Very good park

Our grandkids love this park. The swimming pool is very large plus there is a lot of places for them to ride their bikes. The only down side to this park is when it rains it becomes a swamp. Mosquitoes are also abundant....

We stayed here in a 5th Wheel.

Peaceful Primitive Camp Sites!

I have camped at Hillsborough River State Park more times than any other park around Central Florida, and for good reason! I'm a counselor in my brother's youth group at church, so I tend to take some of the youth guys and older guys from our church with me, primarily to the primitive sites. It's a good 1.3 mile hike out there each way, but it's really peaceful out there! Bugs (especially mosquitos) can be a real pain if it's not cool out. The primitive sites have nothing out there, except maybe a fire ring. Wood (dead wood) for the fire is surprisingly difficult at times to find. I try to always leave some cut up logs and other combustible wood out there for the next campers to have.

Overall, I highly recommend this park to all my local friends!

We stayed here in a Tent.
