Great Campground!

January 1, 2012
I visited Magnolia Springs State Park many times as a kid growing up in Southeast GA. Now, in my adult life, I finally make it back for camping.

Years ago, the campground at Magnolia had 50-some odd sites...today there are 26. (+ 3 walk-in tent sites). Needless to say, this makes for a very spacious campground with very spacious sites. Most sites are big enough for big rigs...which means more than enough for my wee pop-up. The park is currently in the middle of building a new bathhouse for the campground...but the old one is still in-use during construction. I stayed in a pull-thru...site #12. I think it was the best of the campground. Most sites face the forest, with a few "lakeside". I put that in quotes because they are not on the lake shore itself, just have a view of the water. There are also less desirable inner-loop sites.

Very family friendly and the park has some nice trails and Civil War history to explore.

We stayed here in a Popup Trailer.
