How can you tell how "green" an RV is?
If you were to buy an RV or trailer today, how would you be able to tell how environmentally friendly it is?

Simply look for the EverGreen rating. TRA, an environmental certification company, ensures that the materials and components that go into RV's and trailers are "green". RV's and trailers that meet TRA's stringent criteria are awarded a rating: Bronze, Silver, Gold, or Emerald, with Emerald being the most environmentally friendly.

Check if it uses alternative sources of energy like solar panels. Ask and check if things like bamboo floors and non toxic paints were used in the interior of the RV.

Solar panels are a reliable tell-tale sign that the RV is eco-friendly.

Checking for the EverGreen rating is one tell tale sign if the RV is eco-friendly, but that's only if you're buying a brand new RV. But for those that are looking for pre-owned RVs or trailer, the sight of solar panel is a good tell tale sign that it's eco friendly. A friend of mine told me to also smell the emissions it releases. Sounds crazy, I know. But according to him, eco-friendly RVs that use biofuel and veggie fuel have emissions that don't really smell as bad as those that use petroleum-based fuel like diesel or gas.
