Florida Camping Regulations
A friend of ours told us that he got a ticket when he went out camping in Florida a few years back. That time, he only had a standard van, not a camper. The officer who gave him the ticket told him that the reason was because the van is considered in Florida to be a car, and not an RV, and it's illegal to sleep in a car in Florida State Parks. Tried to check this info out in websites, but so far came out empty. Is it safe to say that this is not true?

Re: Florida Camping Regulations
I've been camping a lot in Florida way before we had our camper and never encountered something like this.

Re: Florida Camping Regulations
I've checked with a friend of mine living down in Florida, and yes. Sleeping in a 'car' in Florida State Parks (and most county parks) is not allowed.

Re: Florida Camping Regulations
I think it's a case to case basis. If you have booked a site and then pitched a tent, but decided to sleep in the van instead, then the officer cannot issue a ticket. The most is to give you a warning. But if you just parked and tried sleeping inside the van, then yes, that is not allowed.
