Re: Bringing Your Own Firewood
Can't understand why there are some people who'd risk things like that. The reason why they are implementing these bans is to make sure that our parks are protected for us to enjoy for a very, very long time.

True. Not to mention that there are some state parks that actually allow you to use wood lying around as firewood, too, so you don't really have to spend anything.

Heading over to North Carolina next weekend with some friends and our families. One of them is quite frugal when it comes to spending and would always bring their own firewood. I've read that state parks are quite strict when it comes to bringing your own firewood into their campgrounds. He said that for as long as the barks are taken off, it should be fine. I'm a bit uneasy about it. The last thing I want is having our trip ruined because of his wanting to bring his own firewood from his backyard.

I'd say let him risk it if he wants to. If he gets the fine, you're not the one paying it anyway. Not to mention it will give you the chance to tell him "I told you so."

That's a good point, josh. But then again, I won't blame his friend. Why spend if you can bring your own for free?

Re: Bringing Your Own Firewood
I hear you, harold. We always bring our own firewood when we go out camping, but only within our area. Otherwise, we just buy them when we go out of state. They take way too much space anyway.
