Wood Flooring for RVs
We're thinking about getting rid of the carpet in our Motorhome and install some wood flooring instead. My only concern is the scratching over time. We noticed the carpet around the areas of our slideouts are really flat from the rollers. If we're going to get the wood flooring, I'm imagining these flattened carpet areas will turn out into deep scratches. Any suggestions on what to install to prevent these scratches from happening on our wood floorings?

We left the carpet in that area. Apparently, no matter how careful you are, wood will eventually get scratched no matter what.

We were actually thinking of going for the natural wood floors too, but ended up deciding to install some Allure laminates instead. They got these designs that look very much like wood so it gives us the look that we want. That was two years ago. So far, no scratches yet.

No matter what, the wood will eventually get scratched as the years go by. I got a friend that changes his wooden flooring every few years for that. Would go with Shisler's suggestion. Allure's got a lot of wood grain designs and they are less of a pain in the pocket to replace when the time comes.
