New to the forum overnight stops
Hello I'm new here. Call me Guy.
I would like to know about overnight stopping while traveling across country off the interstate ? Usually until now We've always had a campground to stay for several days. How do you do it ? What do you look for ? How do you know you'll be safe ?

Welcome Guy,

You might find this article useful:

How to Boondock Safely

In the rare situation when I'm not staying at a campground, I'll either stay at a rest stop on the Interstate, at a Flying J or Walmart car park. If you choose Walmart, you need to make sure they allow overnight parking.

We usually look for a Flying J, although many folks complain about the noise, doesn't bother us, IF your're tired enough, we have used a Wal Mart, but many of those have stopped the overnighting due to local, city or county ordinances against it.
There are many places that you can spend the night at, Still Some Wal Marts available, Cracker Barrels, most truck stops, i've even heard of churches that allow it, we've also used interstate rest areas, but be advised that all states aren't the same, some only allow 2 hours, some 4 hours some all night.
"Generally" safety depends on location, I wouldn't try to overnight IN a city. In any case, be sure to check with management to be sure they allow it, and spend a little money in their store before moving on, a nice way to say thank you.

Re: New to the forum overnight stops
You have to read articles about campgrounding.
Articles and Blogs can describe it more better and good.
