Insulation help needed
I am wanting to know the best Insulation to use for keeping the heat out during the summer, and the cold out during the winter. I am looking to be living in places like NV, OR, AZ, ect. Places where it is very hot during the summer, and below freezing during the winter. Someone told me to use R-10. Is that the best? The walls had Styrofoam between the wood and the siding, should I put something in between the wood and the aluminum siding?

Re: Insulation help needed
You need all the R-value you can fit in and even that won't be enough. In an RV every wall is an exterior wall and a source of heat transfer, plus the windows, skylights and such are more heat conduits. You need to add as much as you can to front and rear caps too.

I gather you are re-constructing an RV and have the walls apart? Otherwise there isn't much you can do to improve insulation.

Re: Insulation help needed
the more R-value the better. I have used reflective insulation from Home Depot to insulate under metal siding with very good results. It is thin, has metalic film as a radiant barrier, and cells like that of bubble wrap which insulates.
