| Favorites for Glacier National Park, MT |

I will be heading up to Eastern Washington via WY and MT and want to spend 5 or 6 days in Glacier National Park. I will be traveling in an Rockwood Mini Lite 1809S and pulling with Nissan Xterra. I have not been to Glacier Park before and need some recommendations for:
1. Best Campgrounds (will spend 5 nights) WITHOUT RESERVATIONS
2. Our favorite spots are next to water (lake or river)
3. Will be traveling through the park east to west
4. Don't mind going off the beaten path IF not too rough and towing a TT
6. I do fly fish
7. We may take our kayaks if there are enough lakes to portage
Any suggestions from those of you that have done Glacier already.

We really enjoyed the Two Medicine area. It is probably the quietest area of the park. If you get lucky you can get a waterside spot. Get there around 8 AM if possible.
There are also a lot of National Forest campgrounds all around Glacier. Not many amenities, but usually nice.

Another vote for Two Medicine Lake area. When we were at Glacier we stayed on the west side, but while exploring the park we discovered Two Medicine Lake. No hookups, but quiet, with good paddling, good trails and good fishing. When we go back to Glacier, that's where we will be. No reservations, so get there early for a good site. According to the chart in the link below, the campground has filled only one night so far in July.

Thanks for the suggestions. I did just find a whole section on Glacier and will read the comments. I can't make reservations because of obligations on the front end of my trip that would change my departure date by as much as 4 days or so, but thanks for the tips. Looks like a lot of the campgrounds are on a first come, first serve basis? That would be our preference. We may head to the West entrance first, find some good camping, and then traverse to the east with just our tow vehicle. Sounds like it is worth packing all of our kayak gear. I was also told that heading west towards WA, that Flathead lake area is nice?
