> Considering a Class B purchase. need some advice
I am considering a Class B purchase for out of town work conditions requiring me to stay a night or 2. I have a class A, but it is simply too large and impractical to take and park on the jobsite and all. I am not familiar with class B's but am familiar with Class A's. It would usually be just me alone staying in the unit over night. I have a place on the jobsite for a 20 amp hookup (not 30 amp) and fresh water hookup. I have been looking at Roadtreks 190 and 210. I see they often come on Dodge or Chevy chassis.

My questions are:
1. What would be the expected MPG for a Class B Chevy or Dodge chasis Roadtrek? Difference in mileage on the Dodge vs. Chevy?

2. Is there anything I should be aware of regarding the inside shower? I definetly want to be able to take a shower inside.

3. Can most of the A/C units run on a 20 amp circuit?

4. Any advice on this would be appreciated. I know I could purchase alot of hotel room nights for the price of a class B, but the fact is, I never know until late in the evening if I am going to have to stay overnight, and finding a motel late in evening is becoming a problem and a hassle.

You'll find the RT 190 comes in 2 versions, the 4 seat Versatile or the 3 seat Popular. The Pop has somewhat longer facing bed-benches in the back, the Versatile has a U-shaped dinette. Comes on the Dodge chassis 'til '03, IIRC, and the Chevy from '02 ('02-'03 could be either). Both chassis and models have pretty much the same aisle shower arrangement. Works fine, IMO (I've had both models, one on dodge, one on Chevy). Others may disagree, but need to qualify their opinion as to how many times they've actually used it.

I got a consistent 13-15 MPG here in the mountains. A few of the last-generation Dodges have execrable handling / driving manners. Read the FAQ's here about taking a test drive.
