We have many years of motor home experience, but are new to diesel. We have had overflows three times recently on fill-ups in truck lanes. In all three cases, the automatic shutoff cut off the flow, but not before a surge ran diesel fuel back out the filler pipe and down the side of the coach. What am I missing? Do the truck lanes have higher flow rates such that the auto shutoff can't respond fasten enough? Is the filler on a truck different enough that the shutoff works there but not on a motorhome fill pipe?
