Re: Saving money for dinnerware and utensils
My wife uses the earthen dinner ware and utensils whenever it's just us and the boys going camping. But if say we are going with a large group, we'd rather use plastic. Unless of course someone brings some paper plates, then we use them.

I've always been using paper plates and plastic utensils whenever I go camping. Lately, I've been considering of getting a set of real dinnerware and utensils (either plastic or ceramic plates and silverware or stainless steel utensils) that we can use whenever we go camping or RVing. No doubt, they are more expensive than the paper stuff if I get them right now. But I'm thinking that they would help us save money in the long run. Anyone can give any suggestions on what brand would be economical?

I'd go with everyone else here. Have a set of earthen ware in your RV for everyday and then some paper plates handy just in case you don't feel like washing after a long day. Since we switched to doing that last year, we've actually save so much.

I do quite a lot of tent camping and I prefer using this camping eating set I got from Amazon. They're pretty lightweight and they pack really well so it makes it easier to carry around. After eating, I just go and wash it. Less trash and no need to be replenished.

When the wife got new stuff for the house, we put the old stuff in the MH., but we still carry paper plates, bowls & plasticware.

Re: Saving money for dinnerware and utensils
One of our neighbors had a garage sale last weekend. We were able to score a lot of really cheap and great finds there, including this really beautiful china set. We now use that in our home. We transferred all of our old stuff into our Motorhome. Thinking actually of setting up a garage sale too to make room for new stuff.
