Reconsidering my RV Insurance
I've been with AAA for a very long time and had all of our vehicles insured with them, including our Motorhome. We managed to get a multi-vehicle discount with them and I thought things were okay, until one instance where we had to request for towing assistance with them when our MH got stuck in the sand. Even though our insurance included it, we were still charged $700 by AAA. Now, I'm beginning to wonder if I should switch insurance companies for my MH. Would really appreciate your thoughts on this.

My first question would be "why" and do you still want me as a "client". I have Progressive and have never had a problem and I couldn't beat the price.

Personally, I'd suggest to go with another company for your RV insurance. We've had all our cars insured with State Farm, but when it came to having our RV insured, we realized that they aren't just able to provide and 'understand' the coverage required for RVs. We got ours from Good Sam, but you can also check GMAC and Miller.

I'd also recommend that you go with one that specializes on RV insurance. There are a lot of RV specialist networks that you can contact to help you gather quotes for your MH. Personally, I wouldn't be comfortable buying RV insurance from anyone who can't tell the difference between Class A and a Class C.

I agree with you, henry. If the agent doesn't know the difference between the different kinds of RVs out there, how can anyone expect them to provide us RVers with a coverage that will meet everything?
